The Future of Energy is Shared Technology Innovation
Room: Exhibit Floor Booth 11456
Tuesday, February 05, 2019: 3:00 PM – 3:30 PM
Track: Digitalizing the Grid
Description
Global policy to mitigate climate change demands that we decarbonize our economies quickly and new systems, analytics, automation, AI, and machine learning will be key enablers in the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity in the future economy. By identifying, building and supporting the non-differentiating code or digital plumbing of these systems, we can enable scaling of the future grid at the pace needed to meet the energy demands of people around the world.
LF Energy, an open end-user and multi-vendor community is a new initiative of the Linux Foundation that provides a neutral, collaborative environment for open source innovation. In this session, Mathew Williams of Faraday Grid (an LF Energy Founding Member) will explain the transformational power of open source to the energy industry, the goals of LF Energy and Faraday Grid, and how to get involved.
