LF Energy is proud to introduce OpenLEADR, a Python implementation of the OpenADR standard, as an addition to its collection of energy-related open source projects.

Lonneke Driessen of ElaadNL will give you the backstory on how OpenLEADR came to be and how LF Energy is supporting its development and reach.

Rolf Bienert of the OpenADR Alliance will present a brief overview of the OpenADR protocol, and how it is applied today to manage different energy-related automations across a variety of sectors and applications.

OpenLEADR developer Stan Janssen will give you a live demonstration of the OpenLEADR Python module. You’ll get a taste of how OpenLEADR allows you to quickly and easily build OpenADR applications (both client-side and server-side), and how you can integrate with your existing energy-infrastructure. You’ll see how powerful OpenADR features like registration and authentication, automated reporting and data collection, event generation, and execution are easily incorporated into your own applications using OpenLEADR.

We’ll close with a short discussion on where OpenLEADR is going and how it fits in the broader ecosystem of OpenADR services, platforms, and applications.

Please join us; there is something for project managers and systems operators who are exploring options for energy automation, for people curious to what open source software could mean for their products and services, and for developers and systems integrators looking to incorporate OpenADR into their own applications and products.
