Dr. Antonello Monti

Dr. Antonello Monti received his M.Sc degree (summa cum laude) and his PhD in Electrical Engineering
from Politecnico di Milano, Italy in 1989 and 1994 respectively. He started his career in Ansaldo
Industria and then moved in 1995 to Politecnico di Milano as Assistant Professor. In 2000 he joined
the Department of Electrical Engineering of the University of South Carolina (USA) as Associate and
then Full Professor. Since 2008 he is the director of the Institute for Automation of Complex Power
System within the E.ON Energy Research Center at RWTH Aachen University. Since 2019 he holds a
double appointment with Fraunhofer FIT where he is developing the new Center for Digital Energy in
Aachen.
Dr. Monti is author or co-author of more than 400 peer-reviewed papers published in international
Journals and in the proceedings of International conferences. He is a Senior Member of IEEE,
Associate Editor of the IEEE System Journal, Associate Editor of IEEE Electrification Magazine,
Member of the Editorial Board of the Elsevier Journal SEGAN and member of the founding board of
the Springer Journal “Energy Informatics”. Dr. Monti was the recipient of the 2017 IEEE Innovation in
Societal Infrastructure Award.
Dr. Audrey Lee

Dr. Audrey Lee is Senior Director of Energy Strategy at Microsoft, where she works at the intersection of policy, technology, and commercial opportunities on the Microsoft datacenter energy and sustainability team. She also serves on the Boards of ArcLight Clean Transition II (NASDAQ: ACTD), a special purpose acquisition company focused on sustainable energy, and Redaptive Inc., deploying energy efficiency-as-a-service across large commercial real estate portfolios. She volunteers as a board member of Gridworks and Clean Energy for America Education Fund. Between 2020 and 2021, she served as an Advisor to LF Energy.
Lucian Balea

R&D Program Director and open source manager, RTE
Lucian is R&D Program Director and open source manager at RTE. He is leading the open source strategy of RTE which aims at moving the digitalization of the power grid into a new era. Early 2018 he started a collaboration with The Linux Foundation to launch LF Energy, an open source coalition to speed technological innovation and support the energy transition across the world.
Lucian has been with RTE since 2003 where he held several management positions in the fields of R&D, markets and finance.
Maud Texier

Head of Energy Development, Google
Maud is Head of Energy Development at Google. She leads a team responsible for developing and scaling 24/7 carbon-free energy for Google’s data centers worldwide with various initiatives including new technologies, clean energy supply and policy efforts. Prior to joining Google, Maud was Head of Industrial Energy Products at Tesla, leading the product management group for large-scale batteries for various applications across US, Europe, and APAC markets. Previously, Maud worked for Electricite De France as part of the Innovation office in charge of new technologies for the group. Maud holds an MS of engineering in Energy and Power systems from Ecole Centrale Paris.

Technical Lead, PowSyBl & Open Source R&D Engineer, RTE
Anne is a member of the open source organisation PowSyBl, part of the Linux Foundation Energy. PowSyBl is a high-performance computing library for grid simulation and planning. She is responsible for the coordination between the users and the contributions, the library documentation and makes some developments too. She is Chair of the Technical Steering Committee of PowSyBl and cares more generally about the open source community.
She joined RTE in 2014 as R&D engineer. She was expert of short and mid-terms load forecasts, in fields of software development, production and support. She worked on PowSyBl project since 2019, as her second experience at RTE.

Benoît Jeanson

Benoît has been working for RTE, the French power transmission system operator since 2002. He had various positions in many areas of the company and developed its expertise in power system operation. He was project manager in the R&D department leading projects related to the future of the operator console (OperatorFabric is one of them) when RTE decided to develop a strategy towards open source. He then joined the Open Source Program Office where he supports project teams taking part in or leading open source communities.

Boris Dolley

Boris is a team leader at the French electricity Transmission System Operator (RTE). With 15 years of experience in managing and directing IT projects, followed by a stint in the company’s purchasing department (responsible for a portfolio of 350 million euros per year), he has been a manager for 7 years. He now manages about 16 software developers who are internal to the company. His team builds strategic software for the French and European TSO(s), modeling the development of the network, the supply-demand adequacy and the coordination between operators. Most of the software in his scope is open source. In addition, Boris leads the OperatorFabric project for which he is the TSC chairman.

Founder and Executive Director of LF Energy
Shuli Goodman is the founder and Executive Director of LF Energy, a new Linux Foundation project that supports open source innovation in the energy and electricity sectors. LF Energy’s ambition is to accelerate the energy transition and the decarbonization of the world’s economies. Having spent the early part of her career enabling some of the world’s largest companies in the world to become Internet-ready, she has brought her digital-first, cross-industry background to the electricity sector. With a doctorate in Organizational Systems focused on innovation and the energy transition, Shuli has a uniquely multi-disciplinary approach to solving complex, interdependent problems. She has nearly three decades experience in the startup and ongoing support of governance and multi-stakeholder engagement bodies that have been convened to enable decision-making and provide steering capacity for high-visibility and/or high-risk initiatives. Her goal is to inspire, train, and enable 10,000 developers, in the next 10 years, to digitally transform the world’s power systems.
David Wheeler

David is an expert on open source software (OSS) and on developing secure software. His works on OSS include “Why Open Source Software / Free Software (OSS/FS)? Look at the Numbers!“, “How to Evaluate OSS/FS Programs“, “Publicly Releasing Open Source Software Developed for the U.S. Government”, and “Open Source Software is Commercial”. He also helped develop the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) policy on OSS. His works on developing secure software include “Secure Programming HOWTO” and “Fully Countering Trusting Trust through Diverse Double-Compiling (DDC)“. Other works of his include “Software Inspection: An Industry Best Practice” and “Ada 95: The Lovelace Tutorial“.
David is the Director of Open Source Supply Chain Security at the Linux Foundation and teaches graduate courses in developing secure software at George Mason University (GMU). David has a PhD in Information Technology, a Master’s in Computer Science, a certificate in Information Security, and a B.S. in Electronics Engineering, all from George Mason University (GMU), and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). He lives in Northern Virginia.

Yarille Kilborn has managed international meetings, trade shows, and programs, primarily in South America and Asia, for over 15 years. Yarille is an experienced Project Coordinator assisting with the day-to-day and ongoing projects for the Linux Foundation team. Yarille currently lives in Rochester, NY with her four children.
Carly Akerly attended the University of Dayton graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing. Immediately following graduation, the Pennsylvania native moved to Chicago to pursue a career in social media and content management. Carly leads LF Energy’s social media and content efforts. In her free time, you can find Carly exploring the beautiful city of Chicago, writing, or crafting.
